Sound Bank
Im Gegensatz zum originalen Octapad PAD-8, welches ausschließlich als MIDI Controller konzipiert war, besitzt das Octapad SPD-30 eine umfangreiche Sound-Ausstattung. 50 Kits sind eingebaut, die erstklassige Sounds für alle Musikrichtungen bieten. Die einzelnen Sounds lassen sich mit Editiermöglichkeiten für Stimmung, Dämpfung, Attack, Pitch Sweep je nach Geschmack und Einsatzgebiet verändern.
Multieffekte
Basierend auf Rolands weltweit zur Spitzenklasse gehörender Effekt-Technologie, bietet der SPD-30 Multieffekt-Prozessor ungeahnte kreative Möglichkeiten. 30 Multieffekt-Typen, sowie EQ, Limiter und sieben Ambience-Typen, stehen zur Verfügung.
Loop-Funktion
Die interne Loop-Funktion ermöglicht das Einspielen von Loops mit bis zu drei Overdubs. 50 Phrasen mit je drei Layern lassen sich intern speichern. Außerdem können Phrase-Loops über USB gespeichert werden.
Fortschrittliche Triggering-Technologie
Das Octapad SPD-30 profitiert von Rolands hochentwickelter V-Drums Triggering-Technologie. Jedes der acht Pads bildet eine separate Einheit mit sensiblem Trigger - daher ist jegliches Übersprechen auf die benachbarten Pads praktisch ausgeschlossen.
Außerdem sind vier Dual Trigger-Eingänge, sowie ein Hi-Hat-Controller (kompatibel mit Roland FD-8, VH-11) vorhanden, um ein Mini-Drum Set mit externen Pads (Roland KD- / PD- / PDX- / CY-Serien) zu ermöglichen oder Trigger-Signale von akustischen Drums über Rolands RT-Serien-Trigger zu empfangen.
